#10 Kiran

Today was a warmish day, but the snow was falling quietly.  Our son was heading out for a really Big Gig (of his band Fresh Cut Collective in Milwaukee).  I asked him to step out and pose for me for a couple of minutes.  I liked this image which I processed in a couple of different ways.

Which do you like?  Any other comments?

Thank you for visiting.

    Hi Usha,

Very charming son. I love both portraits. The color one (2nd picture) is more “realistic”: we meet the man. In the “altered” one we meet the iconic man. This first picture is more hieratic.

The blue Kiran is more lively, The “B&W” Kiran is more abstract. A symbol of his inner self?

I cannot choose. Both portraits are marvellous. Congratulations.

PS. Hope some words like iconic and hieratic are not offensive in English. I translate from French.

    Hi Micheline,
Thank you so very much for taking time to comment. Your comments about the images are spot on. You described very eloquently what I was feeling but did not know how to say it.
    Thanks for being here.

Nice bokeh, I prefer the monochrome.

Micheline, sometimes your command of English is amazing! Like Usha, I felt those things, but couldn’t think of the words I wanted.

Usha, I love how Kiran is looking straight into the camera as tho he were really looking at you. He’s quite a handsome guy. I’m glad he has a creative outlet like his band. I’d love to hear them in person some time.

There is something about the first which suggests his depth, and draws me in.

While the second hints at what is disguised by bright colors worn on the outside—more sinister, somehow.
